What is a Code Compliance Bond?

The Code Compliance Bond is a consumer protection bond that assures your customers that you conduct business in according to written standards (i.e. building codes). In 2009, it replaced the License Bond.

It is a three year continuous bond and is unlimited with no minimum or maximum. It currently has a penalty sum of $10,000.

Why do I need one?

All contractors are required to have a Code Compliance Bond, formerly known as the License Bond, in order to get licensed in New Mexico.
